Also, we're gonna perform at Dover Hospice on 20 Dec, so pls remember to give Ms Ng, Mrs Lian, Ms Lai or your SLs a parents letter if you cannot make it. Well, do try to make it! :D
Oh and also, PLS inform your SLs if you cannot go for ANY Choir practice (and also give parents letter or an MC)

Impt : Remember to memorise the scores, esp the Christmas Carols.

this song, Defying Gravity, is only sang by 2 people, which is Rachel (Lea Michelle) and Kurt (Chris Colfer)
of course the original version of the song is nice too, but Glee is always awesome! (to me it is)
Oh and I think the lyrics are very meaningful (:
Plus, the harmonizing is very nice too! Not to mention they make a great duet as both their voices are good ^^

I suppose you guys are happy + carefree now that exams are OFFICIALLY OVER!
I don't feel any excitement though -.- Hmm..

Anyways, you guys know the board outside the General Office meant for wishing the seniors good luck for O lvls and etc etc? Well, I think you guys should write on it (: wish the CHOIR SENIORS :D
I JUST DID MY PART JUST NOW IN SCHOOL HAAHHAHAHAHHAHA.
And in case any of you guys are wondering, no I didn't write anything about KPop there -.-

Anyways, I think that the song Firework by Katy Perry is really nice :D
Like, idk, but it like gives you hope? Okay idk how to phrase it but, it's really nice (in my opinion), esp the lyrics!
But I know it's like, you guys would be saying like : Oh, Katy Perry, aiya she always promote those wrong stuff.
But hey, Firework isn't. I think it actually encourages you to shine out like a Firework that shines so bright in the sky and I felt encouraged by reading the lyrics, and of course, listening to the song (: and of course, I like Katy Perry's voice alot. I think it's like very powerful and she can totally stretch her vocals.
Oh and sorry to all the Katy Perry-Antis.
And I think some of you guys might be disappointed by the results, but don't be too upset over it! Cos you can always pick yourself up and run again (: And at least you know you tried your best :D give yourselves a pat on the back people! :D

I think I decided that we'll stick to the Polo t-shirt. Cotton type, not the thick material like the old one. So design is behind and the 'GeMS Chorale' + logo is in front.

Latest Choir T-shirt Design

Hello folks,

Here's the final choir t-shirt design. We'll send it in for printing next week.

The design will be IN FRONT of the shirt, and shirt colour is BLACK.

We'll print the words 'GeMS Chorale' on the right sleeve.

So the back of the shirt is plain.

We got SILVER! After all this hard work, I believe we're all proud of our achievements. Don't mind what others say of us. The teachers and the school is proud of us. And remember P has promised (not just once) that we'll change our gowns next year. YEAH! Finally... after... 4 years? We've been in this gown for how long? dunno also...

Anyway, celebrations will be coming on... but concentrate on your exams for now yah? Choir members must be both good in singing and good in studies. Show your teachers that you can do it if you work hard. Expecially the Sec 4 and 5s. Start working hard now. Stress is normal... But don't go cranky ya? If you get to stressed than go play for a while... A WHILE only hor... :)

Last of all, thanks to ALL the alumni who showed their concern for us,

Huiyu and Dorothy who came to help in make up and carry breakfast...

Xiu Qi, Le Wei and Woon Siew who came down to support the choir,

Olivia who was jumping with joy in her TPJC Hall when she heard the good news,

Hui Lun who sent me this extremely long message and asked me to read to the choir (which I did with lots of emotions),

Wee Keng, Wendy, Yu Xiu who came to listen to the choir and show their support...

I just realised... how come I didn't upload term 1's schedule? No wonder alumni keep asking me when got choir practice... Anyway, it seems that this blog has been quiet for some time... hmmm.. (accept the tagboard i think). So, here're some recent updates.

Arts Nite
It is official, that Arts Nite 2009 is CANCELLED.

Reason being to not over-tax the Sec 4s so that they can concentrate on studying for their O levels right after SYF.

On top of that, Thanksgiving is going to be a rather grand event, as it is the 85th anniversary, and will be held together with GMS(P).
Btw, Thanksgiving will be on 31st July 2009 (Friday).

I'll update on SYF and March practices tomorrow. Realised I left all the details in school.

World Youth Choral Festival
Overseas choir concert:
Performing choirs include, Indonesian Youth Choir, China Radio Chorus and others
10 December (Friday), Victoria Concert Hall, 7 pm. Ticket $10 (School pays $6, you pay $4)

Compulsory for members who did not go for the RGS concert. But if you went for the RGS concert and still want to go, you can too.

Hello people!! How's the exams so far?

Don't forget we still have choir practice after exams! We need to prepare for the P6 Open House and also our SYF next year!!

So here's the schedule. It's a bit messy, so take a GOOD look at the DATES and DAYS as they are not the same every week.

Please try your VERY best to accomodate the choir schedule into your busy studying and entertainment schedule. =P

If your overseas trips clashes with ANY of the practices, please photostat the confirmation slip from the agency, or receipt of the air-ticket and give it to me. I'll also be asking you all to indicate your overseas plans on the first practice on 13th October Monday.

Last of all, don't forget we still have our TALENTIME and possibly a day camp at the end of year, which I've NOT put into the schedule. I'll inform you latest by the next two weeks.

17th July, Thanksgiving Rehearsal.

Please report at 2.30 pm in the Music Room.
Classes who are dismissed at 2.25 pm should report by 2.45 pm.
Please be punctual.
Prize winners please report to the music room, you'll join the other prize winners in the hall after our sound check.

19th July, Performance at Parkway Parade.

Please report at 1.30 pm in the Music Room.
Please have your lunch. Light snacks will be provided after the event.
Miss Loh will be here at 2.30 pm for a last rehearsal with you.

If you're asking your family and friends to come for the concert, the concert starts at about 4 pm and will end by around 5 pm.
Venue is at the open area just outside Watson's/Crystal Jade/Mos Burger.
If you're joining your parents after the concert at Parkway Parade, please furnish me with a letter.
